Our {Christmas} advent calendar
Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 9:14PM A day late is better then never right? We just began our advent calendar yesterday because I finally finished it...finally!! I think it turned out pretty cute.
These canvas bags with a gingerbread motif were the perfect match for what I had in mind. They are an ideal size to stash a couple treats or goodies in.
Here are some goodies and treats I gathered to stash into the bags.
A great way to use up any of that leftover Halloween candy!
I used a scalloped whole punch to cut out the round shape from cardstock and used gold number stickers i found at Hobby Lobby. Then using double stick tape I adhered them to clothespins and hung them on a jute rope in our stairwell.
Now let the countdown begin!

Hello Tasya Love your idea for these cute little bags. I did something similar with them but without the numbers because my little one (4) has no concept of time...like hos long 4 days or 10 is, you know what I mean...all he knows is NoW and NoW...so we did the bags with no numbers and take one off and count whatever is left (those are the days left for xmas) once there is no bags is xmas eve! Yours look super cute!
We have our own advent traditions at our home, too. Love your little gingerbread bags and how you've hung them from the stair railing. So clever.
And I think it's funny that some of the same things in your advent are also in ours. A Wooly Willy, little Legos, candy coins...
I'm sure they're a big hit with the little ones in your family.
